Ahead of the 2026-27 admission process, Lucknow University has decided to significantly expand its capacity by adding over 3,100 self-financed seats, including 2,500 at undergraduate level and 662 at postgraduate level. The university is also launching four new courses in the computer science department: BCA in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, BCA in Data Science, BCA in Internet of Things, and B.Sc in Cyber Security, each with 75 seats. Vice Chancellor JP Saini announced these expansions as part of the university's efforts to meet growing demand for tech education. The seat increases include 223 additional seats in B.Com (SF), 102 in B.Com (Honours), and 87 in M.Com. The university also noted that the BA LLB integrated five-year course, approved by the Bar Council of India since 1997 for 330 seats, was currently functional with 176 students.
